SCHEDULE OF FEES TO REGISTER ENTITIES WITH DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT AND LABOUR, AS FROM 1 JULY 2022

NOTICE REGARDING IMPLEMENTATION OF REGULATION 8 OF THE COMMERCIAL DIVING REGULATIONS, 2022
The Chief Inspector granted the following exemption: Designated Medical Practitioners who currently do not have the qualification in occupational medicine to continue carrying out medical examination. NOTICE OF DIRECTION IN TERMS OF SECTION 27(2) OF THE OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY ACT, 1993, READ WITH REGULATION 3(11) OF THE COMMERCIAL DIVING REGULATIONS RENEWAL OF DIVING ENTITIES PREVIOUSLY ISSUED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT AND LABOUR
The acting Chief Inspector of the Department of Employment and Labour gave notice that all commercial divers, diving supervisors, diving instructors and commercial diving schools are instructed to re-apply to be issued with the new certification as required by Regulation 3(11) of the Commercial Diving Regulations, 2022. The application form is attached as Annexure F of the Regulations. Commercial diving schools should submit the applications to the Department within six months from the date of publication of the Notice in the Government Gazette. Commercial divers, diving supervisors and diving instructors certified before the promulgation of the Commercial Diving Regulations of 20 May 2022, should submit applications within 24 months from the date of publication of the Notice. NOTICE OF EXEMPTION IN TERMS OF SECTION 40 OF THE OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY ACT, 1993, READ WITH REGULATION 3(4) OF THE GENERAL SAFETY REGULATIONS
The Minister of Employment and Labour gave notice that all employers in the Class XXI: Medical services, Animal hospitals etc., as per the schedule in the said notice, of the classification of industries in terms of the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act, 1993, are exempted from the provisions of the General Safety Regulations 3(4). This exemption does not preclude an inspector demanding the provision of employee/s trained in first aid in areas where an inspector is of the opinion that the health and safety of employees in their course of employment or in connection with the use of plant and machinery is threatened. NATIONAL CODE OF PRACTICE FOR ELECTRICAL MACHINERY IN HAZARDOUS LOCATIONS – REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS FOR EXPLOSION-PROTECTED APPARATUS
