Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993

COMMERCIAL DIVING REGULATIONS, 2022

The Minister of Employment and Labour made the regulations, which repeals the Diving Regulations of 2009. Published under Government Notice R 2091, Government Gazette 46380 of 20 May 2022.

ASBESTOS ABATEMENT REGULATIONS, 2020

The Minister of Employment and Labour amended the Asbestos Abatement Regulations, 2020, which was published on 10 November 2020. The amendments were published under GN R 2092, GG 46380 of 20 May 2022.

National Railway Safety Regulator Act 16 of 2002

RAILWAY SAFETY AND SECURITY REGULATIONS, 2022

The Minister of Transport made the above mentioned Regulations, which was published under Government Notice 1067, Government Gazette 46471 of 3 June 2022. The Regulations came into effect on date of publication in the Government Gazette.

Labour Relations Act 66 of 1995

CODE OF PRACTICE: MANAGING EXPOSURE TO SARS-COV-2 IN THE WORKPLACE, 2022

Notice was given that the Code of good Practice: Managing Exposure to SARS-CoV-2 in the Workplace was issued in terms of section 203(1) of the Labour Relations Act 66 of 1995 to take immediate effect. It was recorded that the Notice which was published in GN 1876, GG46043 of 15 February 2022 was made in error and is liable to be set aside. An application has been filed in the High Court to have it declared invalid. Published under Government Notice R. 2191, Government Gazette 46596 of 24 June 2022.

Nursing Act 33 of 2005

REGULATIONS REGARDING THE SCOPE OF PRACTICE OF NURSES AND MIDWIVES, 2022

The Minister of Health made the abovementioned Regulations, which was published under Government Notice 2127, Government Gazette 46471 of 3 June 2022.

National Health Act 61 of 2003

REGULATIONS RELATING TO THE SURVEILLANCE AND THE CONTROL OF NOTIFIABLE MEDICAL CONDITIONS: REPEAL

The Minister of Health repealed Regulations 16A, 16B and 16C of the Regulations relating to the surveillance and the control of Notifiable Medical Conditions, which was promulgated on 4 May 2022 under Government Notice 2060. The repeal of the Regulations concerned came into operation on publication in the Government Gazette. Published under Government Notice R. 2190, Government Gazette 46590 of 22 June 2022.

PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE ETHICAL RULES OF CONDUCT FOR PRACTITIONERS REGISTERED UNDER THE HEALTH PROFESSIONS ACT, 1974

The Health Professions Council of South Africa intends to amend the Ethical Rules published under Government Notice R717 in Government Gazette No. 29079 of 4 August 2006, as set out in the said notice. Interested persons were invited to submit any substantiated written comments or representations on the proposed amendments to the Registrar, Health Professions Council of South Africa (for the attention of the Legal Advisor: Legislative Drafting) within three months of the date of publication of the notice in the Gazette, to: ntsanem@hpcsa.co.za. RULES RELATING TO THE REGISTRATION BY MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS AND DENTISTS OF ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: AMENDMENT

The Health Professions Council of South Africa intends to make the rules as set out in the said notice. Interested persons were invited to submit any substantiated comments or representations in writing on the proposed amendments to the Registrar, Health Professions Council of South Africa by e-mail at: ntsanem@hpcsa.co.za for the attention of the Legal Advisor: Legislative drafting, within three months from the date of publication of the notice in the Gazette. NOTICE REGARDING FEES PAYABLE TO THE COUNCIL IN TERMS OF THE REGULATIONS REGARDING FEES AND FINES PAYABLE TO THE SOUTH AFRICAN NURSING COUNCIL

The annual fees payable for the year 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2023 have been determined and may be paid from 1 July 2022. Published under Government Notice 2111, Government Gazette 46422 of 27 May 2022.

Pharmacy Act 53 of 1974

RULES RELATING TO THE SERVICES FOR WHICH A PHARMACIST MAY LEVY A FEE AND GUIDELINES FOR LEVYING SUCH A FEE OR FEES

The South African Pharmacy Council published Rules relating to the services for which a pharmacist may levy a fee and guidelines for levying such fee or fees, in terms of sections 35A (b)(iii) and 49(4) of the Pharmacy Act, 1974, which rules shall replace the existing Rules relating to the services for which a pharmacist may levy a fee and guidelines for levying such fee or fees, as published under Board Notice 69 on 9 July 2021. These rules must be read in conjunction with the Rules relating to Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) as published by the South African Pharmacy Council.
