AMENDMENT OF SECTION 24H REGISTRATION AUTHORITY REGULATIONS, 2016

The Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment amended the Section 24H Registration Authority Regulations, 2016, which was published in Government Gazette 40154 of 22 July 2016. This notice was published under Government Notice 1733, Government Gazette 45883 on 7 February 2022.

The Minister of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development amended Table 1 of the Regulations, regarding the tariffs, Rates and scales for services, goods and supplies provided by the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development. PROPOSED WATER RESOURCE CLASSES AND RESOURCE QUALITY OBJECTIVES FOR THUKELA CATCHMENTS IN THE PONGOLA-MTAMVUNA WATER MANAGEMENT AREA

The Minister of Water and Sanitation published the notice on the proposed water resource classes and the associated resource quality objectives, for public comment. Written comments may be submitted within 60 days from the date of publication of the notice, to matlalal@dws.gov.za. National Environmental Management: Waste Act 59 of 2008

NATIONAL NORMS AND STANDARDS FOR TREATMENT OF ORGANIC WASTE

The Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment published the National Norms and Standards for the treatment of organic waste, for implementation. The Norms and Standards are aimed at reducing the amount of organic waste that would normally go to landfill sites and, as such, waste will be diverted from landfill to facilities that will be treating it for beneficial use. Published under Government Notice 1984, Government Gazette 46169 of 1 April 2022.

CONSULTATION ON THE INTENTION TO ADOPT A STANDARD FOR THE DEVELOPMENT AND EXPANSION OF POWER LINES AND SUBSTATIONS WITHIN IDENTIFIED GEOGRAPHICAL AREAS AND THE EXCLUSION OF THE INFRASTRUCTURE FROM THE REQUIREMENT TO OBTAIN AN ENVIRONMENTAL AUTHORISATION

The Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment intends to adopt the Standard for the Development of Power Lines and Substations within identified Geographical Areas Revision 1 August 2021, and based on compliance with this Standard, exclude identified activities including identified activities necessary for the realisation of the development or expansion of power line and substation infrastructure, from the requirement to obtain environmental authorisation. Written comments may be submitted within 30 days of the publication of the Notice in the Gazette, to the Director-General, Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, at dfischer@dffe.gov.za.
